Out and about

After spending a few hours in the studio I decided to head out with a good friend of mine and look for inspiration. Here are a few images I took while out looking for inspiration today. There's so much inspiration in this city its endless. Every time I head out I find something new that inspires me. Talking about inspiration in May I'll be heading to NYC and I can't wait to see what I come across.

Here are a few new stencils I'm working on and can't wait to use them. I'm also in the process of working on a few new piece for a show in April. These new stencils are pretty small and the smaller they are the harder they are to cut. All my stencils are hand cut by me and they can be a pain in the butt to cut but well worth it. To tell you the truth I might have well over 150 stencils that I've hand cut over the years. I will try and photography them so you can see the variety of stencils I have in my collection.

Out looking for Inspiration

There times when I'm in the studio and need to be inspired so I get my camera and head outside. As I'm looking for inspiration I'm looking for textures, typography, rust, decay and color. Here are a few images I took while looking for inspiration as you can tell textures is a big factor in these images. Hope these images inspire you the way they have inspired me. 

Interview with Glovebox

Wanted to share with you all an interview I had with Liz Comperchio from GLOVEBOX. Thank you Liz Comperchio for featuring me as the Artist of the Month. They also have a few images of me in the STUDIO working on a few new images don't forget to check that out as well.

At the moment I'm working on a new project, its a group show I'm going to be apart of in San Francisco. As soon as I receive more info I will post it.

Fresh Hot new items on my Etsy

I added a few new items to my etsy you can also purchase a few bigger pieces.

Here are a few images I took today while working on new paintings. I'm also in the process of cutting out new stencils. Cutting stencils out are a pain in the butt. I also posted an image of the tools I use to create. These piece might soon be up on my etsy so stay tuned.

New Self Portraits

Here are two new portraits taken by Daniel J Valadez. I needed new portraits of me and my work.

My Studio

Heres a picture of my studio in San Francisco. This is a new painting I'm working on at the moment. The size of this painting is 60"x48" this painting has been a challenge but so far so good. I will keep you posted on how this painting turns out as I work on it.

Painting live @ Mezzanine

Heres an image taken @ Mezzanine when I was painting live. The piece I was working on was a 40"x30" on wood panel. Hope to finish the piece soon once I do I''ll post images.
